How it works
Wool dryer balls work through mechanical and hygroscopic action:
Static reduction: Static cling is caused by friction in dry conditions. Wool balls absorb moisture from damp clothes and release it slowly during the drying cycle, maintaining humidity that prevents static buildup.
Fabric softening: The balls physically agitate and separate clothes as they tumble, preventing bunching. This mechanical action fluffs fibres in the same way that fabric softener chemicals coat them.
