Ingredients/Wool Dryer Balls

Wool Dryer Balls

Also known as: Dryer balls

Replace dryer sheets permanently. Reduce static, soften fabric, and speed up drying with zero chemicals.

How it works

Wool dryer balls work through mechanical and hygroscopic action:

Static reduction: Static cling is caused by friction in dry conditions. Wool balls absorb moisture from damp clothes and release it slowly during the drying cycle, maintaining humidity that prevents static buildup.

Fabric softening: The balls physically agitate and separate clothes as they tumble, preventing bunching. This mechanical action fluffs fibres in the same way that fabric softener chemicals coat them.

Faster drying: By keeping clothes separated and improving airflow, balls reduce drying time by 10-25%. They also absorb moisture and redistribute it.

What dryer sheets do: By contrast, dryer sheets coat fabric with quaternary ammonium compounds (quats) and synthetic fragrance. These chemicals reduce static but leave residue that transfers to skin 24/7.

Uses

  • -Tumble drying — use 3-6 balls per load
  • -Essential oil carrier — add a few drops for scent
  • -Fluffing — works on pillows and duvets

Why we recommend it

Dryer sheets coat your clothes in fragrance chemicals and quats that transfer to your skin constantly. Wool balls achieve the same results with zero chemicals and last for years.
